Minimizing Our Environmental Impact

This year we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, a day that commemorates the need for global support in environmental protection. With this occasion falling during the throes of the Coronavirus pandemic, many corporations and businesses are slowing down, rethinking their production and giving thought to global issues at large.

As responsible global citizens, our vision of the future at Outform includes a deep concern for the environment and minimizing our impact as such. To that end, we design and develop our displays with this in mind, paying particular attention from cradle to grave sustainability and responsible sourcing. We follow the POPAI Global Sustainability Standard, providing us with access to Convert, the world’s first dedicated Point of Purchase (POP) design calculator. This offers a unique measure of environmental performance for POP solutions. POPAI’s Five Routes to Greater Sustainability, building sustainability, environmental credibility, improving processes, recycling and conscientious delivery and installation, are ingrained in every step of our process. As we continue to move forward, we will be exploring further opportunities to improve our environmental stewardship.

We show our commitment to this initiative in our choice of materials across manufacturing, printing, packaging and logistics operations. Throughout the mass production of our components our intent is to use up to 60% of post-consumer recyclable materials during the injection molding process. Packaging is another example where we look into molded fiber material, also known as pulp, that is made from 100% recycled paper. This material is an environmentally protective type of packaging that provides superior protection at every stage of the supply chain and is sustainable, recyclable and biodegradable. It’s a proven alternative to the standard foam packaging that has been used in the past. In addition to materials we use operational strategies for trade and logistics that reduce our gas emissions and contribute to a smaller eco-footprint as a result.

We not only think about our environmental impact on the production and logistics process of the business, but we also think about the end of the lifecycle of our displays. Take a look at our previous endeavors where we use retail initiatives to recycle fixtures it educational tools for students in India.
